Bath Toys for Babies - What Would Suit Them?
Bath toys for baby are toys that have been specifically designed for play time in the water to distract or entertain the child and to provide interaction with the parent.
Baby bath toys are usually plastic but bath tub toys can also include items like sponges or soaps in special shapes such as favorite cartoon characters.
Some Bath Toys for Babies
Parents can choose from a wide variety of bath toys for baby tub play. Some of these might include:
Bath mobiles such as the Summer Infant Bath mobile are placed over the bath so the baby can look at or play with interesting dangling objects while it is being bathed.
Bath boats are sturdy plastic replicas of ships that float and are especially popular with older children during bubble baths.
Bath ducks or "rubber duckies" are an old favorites. Made of bright yellow plastic with orange bills, the ducks float on the water and may even quack when squeezed.
Water squirters come in all varieties from toy guns to animals that take in water and shoot it out when they are squeezed. Parent and child can have a lot of fun getting each other wet with these toys.
Sponges come in a variety of special shapes (such as animal figures) so that they can not only be used for cleaning purposes but can also be a source of interest and entertainment for the child.
Bubble toys are normally used in conjunction with special bubble bath solutions. By passing the ring or wand through the special soap and then waving it in the air, bubbles are formed that float over the bath and are so much fun to pop.
Bath books are plastic story books that can be used for bath time reading with no fear of ruining the book should it get dropped in by accident.
Bath puppets and other soft toys are made of fabrics like flannel that can be immersed in water and left to dry.
Besides these specially designed bath time toys, you can also use other items and toys as bath toys. Children may enjoy playing with some of the following items in the bath:
Plastic balls
Plastic containers (such as mixing bowls)
Plastic dolls

Is it safe for your baby to use? Is it age-appropriate for your child?
Is it a sturdy toy? Is there any likelihood that pieces may break off and cause a safety hazard?
Does the color and design of the toy appeal to your baby?
Can the toy be immersed in water without causing any safety concerns or without ruining the toy?
